The Radio does not Lie.
It is six months after the world ended and the red clouds seethe and hiss above a cold world.
A man with a clear purpose, but no clear understanding of who he once was scavenges the ruins of a Kent seaside town by day, patrolling for intruders and reminiscing about happier days that change with every retelling.
By night he uses a lamp he built on instructions from his Radio to wreck ships fleeing the war-torn continent. The progress of the Russians against the Vampire Family lit by the pyres of port cities along the coast lighting up the night.
The Radio tells him he’s doing the right thing. The Union needs him. The Union is coming. The enemy is at the gates.
But then one of the monsters from across the Channel makes its way to his door and the man has to ask why exactly it is he is doing this, and who the hell he even is.
“If you see any boats wending their way to these hallowed shores; voyagers on the wine dark sea; where possible plunge their bodies deep into the eternal saline moat that guards our land and let them freeze in the dark and the deep.”
“Better that a thousand die than one vampire escapes their fate.”
“The Union will understand. The Union will applaud. We are here for you. We know you are there for us.”
